Great tune

Joe Egan co-wrote this song with Rafferty (among other songs) and was half of Stealers Wheel. Most people omit Egan and talk just about Rafferty. Rafferty's life story does make him a tragic figure--like Gram Parsons, many of whose songs ("Wheels," "Sin City," and others) he wrote with Chris Hillman. Hillman, like Egan, often gets left out of the story. I'm just here to put in a good word for Egan and, not that he needs it, for Hillman, too.

I've always thought that Cheryl Crow's song "all I wanna do" is based on this great music.

Some I knew hated his job as a postie, and said this was their theme tune for the building, but with different lyrics, "C*nts to the left of me, Arseholes to the right, here I am, stuck in this shithole with you....." 😂😂😂

Hello @laurendavis3442, I was greatly touched by your tribute to your husband who sadly passed. I found myself in the same situation in mid December of 2022. I was married to my Bobbi for 44 years. It wasn't COVID that took her, it was several other combined health problems that befell her over time. She was bedridden the last 14 years of her life. At the end she was blind and could barely move her hands and arms. Release by Death was a blessing from God above. She, I'm positive is in a better place, as likely is your guy. I am moving on this year to find new Love in a dating life, my Bobbi told me just days before her life ended, to please in time, find love again after I'm gone. That permission was the greatest gift ever a spouse could give her partner in life. I agree on the thought for this song 100% concur. Stuck in the middle is absolutely incredible for the loving time with that one you crave in life. I hope your heart is mending, it sure takes time. There are others out there like you that have compassion, passion and love to share. I think my Bobbi in her own way told me to reach out to you like this, I care and feel for your loss. Don't give up on ever finding love once more. It can happen. It will be different, but it will be amazing and wonderful. I know I will this year. Keep the Faith Lauren, please keep the faith. If you live near Northeast Ohio and need a kind person in your life that is nice and wants friendship, just reply to me and we'll see what happens, friends first, then maybe more will follow in time. That will fix two lonely hearts in one fell swoop. Peace to you in your Life :) .
